Toby (cockapoo) and I (his hooman) spent the weekend in Deal Kent camping and found it to be very dog-friendly with lots to do. Would highly recommend for an afternoon or day out or for a weekend or a staycation with your dog(s). We'll try to group what we did into categories so you can take from it the kind of thing you like to do!

We exp-l-awed around dog-friendly Deal Pier, with Deal Pier Kitchen at the end which is dog-friendly inside and out with gorgeous views and a takeaway coffee shack if you prefer. Deal beach between Deal Castle and Sandown Castle is unrestricted for dogs between October and April.

With the benefit of Andrea Victoria Photography's local knowledge Toby and I met Andrea early as Deal gets busy on market days. Various car parks, we parked at The Royal on the seafront which wasn't cheap but the first one we saw!

With plans to meet at "The Lane" we headed to Hope&Lane which looked lovely and is dog-friendly. Andrea was patiently waiting at "The Lane" which is also lovely and dog-friendly! Brunch was delicious and they do afternoon tea (yum).

A mooch round Deal Market and a spot of dog-friendly shopping including the pet shop opposite the market to stock up on squeaky Kong balls (a must according to my dog!). Lots of interesting independent shops in Deal which I liked and lots of Dogs Welcome stickers.

Brunch digested we stopped for lunch at dog-friendly Lavender and Blackberry which had outdoor seating and a lovely salad bar.

Deal town gets a Dog Advisor thumbs up from us for its dog-friendliness.

After a lovely morning in Deal, we headed towards Dover to Waves Canine Hydrotherapy Centre. Newly opened and in the DOGGY DIRECTORY, Waves offers hydrotherapy, rehabilitation, fitness swims and fun swims, with both an indoor pool and a treadmill. You do need vet consent but Josie at Waves made this very simple I just had to provide the name of my vet and she organised that for me and I booked on!

Toby had a lovely time in the pool with Josie and then had a go on the treadmill ably assisted by squeezy cheese which had him hooked! A lovely wash down in the shower and I had a relaxed and chilled dog to take back to camp!

We campervanned at dog-friendly Solley's Farm in Ripple just outside Deal but you don't need to stay overnight to enjoy Solley's! It has dog-friendly Pub at Solley's which is open to the public and campers. The night we arrived they had a guest pizza company in and Toby and I sat at the bar and my freshly made pizza was delivered to the bar while we enjoyed tunes from acoustic guitarist and singer Sam Brothers. Dog-friendly Solley's Ice Cream Parlour with ice cream for hoomans and dogs (banana) is open to the public and has parking. You can sit inside or outside or get takeaway (which is what we did and took back to camp - banana split (me) banana doggy ice cream (Toby) - both deeeelicious!).

If it's dog walks you want, you can walk to lots of different places from Solley's Farm with well signposted walks to Walmer, Deal and Ringwould. We will soon be adding Solley's walks to DOG WALKS KENT

Solley's gets a big dog-friendly thumbs up on lots of counts. We will be back!

We had prebooked a date at Poppy's Play Parks up the road, Poppy's has 2 secure dog fields with lovely views, we booked Poppy's Play Park 1 which is a massive green space with toys to borrow while you're there. Toby loved having a runaround. Poppy's Play Park 2 has lots of agility equipment including the famous Podium so take your pick subject to availability obviously!

If you're from North Kent you might not even know where Deal is, it's next to Dover and hosts Pawfest, an inclusive family-friendly fun filled day for you and your dog(s).
