Pet Owners First Aid will be joining us at Snowy Veterinary Centre to deliver an accredited animal first aid course.

The course is ideal for pet owners, groomers, dog walkers, boarders, pet sitters, hydrotherapists and anyone working with animals or thinking about becoming a pet professional.

Across three modules, you’ll learn how to recognise what’s “normal” for your pet, spot when something is wrong, understand shock, CPR for pets, and respond to near drowning, choking, dog fights and injuries, heatstroke, seizures, wounds and bleeding (including practical bandaging), intoxications, road traffic accidents (including how to transport your pet safely), bites and stings, electrocution, burns and how to be prepared for emergencies.

What’s included: a relaxed, interactive event with practical CPR and bandaging, small group teaching, a first aid manual, access to a “nose to tail” dog examination webinar, supporting literature, 6 hours of CPD, a certificate of attendance and the option to purchase animal-specific first aid kits on the day.

Cats are a complex species that are often difficult to understand and misunderstood, they are not small dogs and deserve to have a first aid course dedicated to them and their own unique needs.

Come and visit our magical grotto and Christmas fair! All money raised goes toward helping us rescue and rehome more animals in need. There's lots to do on the day, including: Christmas activities The chance to meet some of our team (animal and human!) Raffle and games A special meeting with Santa including a gift The last hour of every day is reserved for fur-babies in our Santa Paws grotto where every pup gets a visit with Santa and special treat, also £6. This dog first aid workshop is suitable for everyone, whether you're a dog owner, carer or professional.

Topics include: · Legal compliance and the role of the first aider · Actions to take in an emergency · Assessment and examination · Vital signs · CPR · Seizures · Bleeding and bandaging · Canine shock · GDV/bloat · Burns & scalds · Poisoning · Heat stroke · Choking

Fun and interactive, you can have a go at CPR on our special dummy dogs, learn how to apply different types of bandages and meet other dog carers. You can also ask questions throughout.

Developed by veterinary professionals, the workshop also includes a course handbook, a CPR aid memoire card, and a CPD accredited certificate (valid for 3 years).
