Samphire Hoe Dog Walk and Dog Friendly Beach
Dog Walk Kent
Dude and Disco loved Samphire Hoe a 3.5km on lead walk with a dog friendly beach at the end for some unrestrained (whilst in control!) off lead fun. Free leads and poo bags if you've forgotten yours. On lead to protect the amazing wildlife. Rebel Coffee Pod with small food menu Wednesday to Sunday. Parking good value. Cool tunnel to get there! Clean toilets. Be careful at the beach on stormy days. Fun memory statue (intrigued? go along and find out for yourself!). Sheltered and spaced out picnic seating. Ideal for reactive dogs
Cafes and Pubs
Rebels Samphire Coffee Pod Disco open Wednesday to Sunday. Pup cups not officially on the menu but do ask! Hoomans said hot chocolate was "best ever" and pistachio latte was pretty amazing too! Small food menu gourmet toasties, crisps, ice creams and cakes. Seating inside the exhibition shelter and outside
Parking
Parking good value £1 an hour or £3 all day correct March 2026. Parking free with a blue badge displayed on dashboard
There are different route options you can do a 3.5km circuit as Disco and Dude did or walk along the hoe or along the promenade. Which will you do?
Disco and Dude think Samphire Hoe would be good for reactive pups as lots of space and quietHoomans repawt that the Rebel Samphire coffee pod service was supaw friendly and they had the "best hot chocolate ever", pistachio latte was also a big hooman hit. Disco and Dude repawt that the Pup Cups were puppalicious and it's worth asking for those even though they're not on the menu sssssshhhhhh!Shingle dog friendly beach accessible at low tidePoo Bags and Leads
If you've forgotten poo bags or a lead there's no excuse as Samphire Hoe provide them for you. Dogs must be on lead until you get to the beach at the far end due to the wildlife.
On Lead Off Lead Areas
On lead at Samphire Hoe because ...
- Livestock all year round
- Ground nesting birds
- Adders
- Fragile wildflowers
- Wild space where nervous dogs or nervous people can feel safe
Dogs can be off lead in a controlled way at the beach :-)
Thank you so much to Samphire Hoe Ranger Lewis at White Cliffs Countryside Partnership for this clear information so usefulSea Wall
Dogs must be on leads on the sea wall. The sea wall does have a risk of sharps from fisherman’s hooks so do keep an eye out
Thank you
A massive thank you to Dude and Disco for their pawsome research and Lewis at Samphire Hoe - White Cliffs Countryside Partnership for giving us so much additional information see you soon!
