Little Paws Dog-Friendly Candles Guest Blog!
Thank you to Kim at Little Paws the home of Dog-friendly calming candles who has contributed our latest guest blog. Enjoy!
How it started
I thought I would share how I started making dog friendly calming candles.
It began with a question from a customer, Can I help with separation anxiety for their dog ? I'm not a vet or a professional in dog's health but I will try, was my reply.
Dog-Friendly Candle Research
So the research began looking into ways to help dogs that have anxieties. I was shocked to discover how toxic some candles can be to dogs, affecting their health, behaviour & even cause epilepsy. This includes big brands due to the wax & oils used in their candles.
The Benefits of Essential Oils for Dogs
Out went all my candles & I started to teach myself how to make them. Researching the benefits of essential oils for dogs. Whilst making candles I discovered I love creating new scents & learning about the benefits of the oils.
I believe in my candles 100%. They help to alleviate stress a dog might be feeling, especially around firework time. My candles are made with Soy wax & essential oils, so nothing nasty will be emitted into the atmosphere & they are good for your dog (& you too).
Positive Reviews
I love reading the positive reviews, one customer called them little tins of miracles- I love that. Quite a few people have said the candles have helped with their rescue, that makes my heart melt knowing I've helped a dog feel safe & secure .
Online Shop
Last year, I created a website for my candles
Littlepawsdogfriendlycandles which includes an online shop and I can post anywhere in the UK so why not have a browse and give one a try. This year I would like to expand my products to include a candle & reed diffuser set.
My Mission
My mission I've set for myself is to educate dog owners how toxic some candles can be for their furry companion. Let's spread the word together.
