Describe your business to our readers
We run Poppy's Play Parks just off the bypass near Tilmanstone. We have 2 different fields which have a huge space between them to enable privacy and peace.
The fields are 3 and 4 acres respectively and we just adore them. We provide clean toys and bowls for each session, water and seating and shelters in both parks. PPP2 is the larger space and also has lots of fun agility equipment which we are adding to all the time.
Do you have your own dog(s)?
Yes we have 7 labradors who are adorable and a little mad! They range from 11 years old (Poppy) to 14 months (Delilah and Gretel). They are all related as we are also licenced breeders.
How do you start your day?
Straight up and sort and feed the dogs and a cup of tea!
How does a typical business day look for you?
Up and the dogs are fed whilst I have a cup of tea and prepare the things needed for Poppy's Play Park 2. Once arrived I wash up all the used items, empty bin and check the field in strips whilst watching and playing with the girls.
The day is spent juggling admin and seeing counselling clients (as my other hat is that of a counsellor) and the girls. They do some sleeping, training and playing. In the eve it's off to PPP1 for field check etc.
How do you finish your day?
On the sofa with a cup of tea and all the dogs for cuddles.
What do you most love about running your own business?
The freedom and the peace of Poppy's Parks. They are my calming place (most of the time). I love all the new people I have met and the happiness of seeing dogs having a great time.
And your least favourite thing?
When a few people don't adhere to the instructions!
What would you like to say to dog owners reading this?
Your dogs will love visiting Poppy's Play Parks and so will you for the peace and calm there.
